Born and educated in Scotland, I have spent almost four decades working in the veterinary field, most of which has been in New Zealand.

My passion for photography predates my veterinary career and is likely to extend beyond it. However it is in the last 20 years that I have become immersed in expressing the body as a photographic subject.

I’m fascinated by the ways we express our humanity in the physical. For a while we get to use the body as a vehicle - amazing in its form and function, capable of such power and dexterity, yet exquisitely sensual and vulnerable to age or injury.

The images I create focus on the use of light, sculptural form and sometimes texture to produce a spectrum ranging from a minimalist, sensual gesture to fantasy landscapes.
