Ruth was born in Liverpool where art was an important part of her life, it was the one thing where she excelled. She took 5 years studying different forms of art and design before taking work in the South of England.

She started work for an exhibition and shop fitting company and then moved into designing commercial office interiors, with various companies working mainly around the London area.

Ruth came to live in New Zealand in January 2006 where she discovered the art of carving stone which then ignited her passion for painting again.
